Current TV

Current TV is without question my favorite TV channel. I got hooked on it late last year after stumbling onto “The Rotten Tomatoes Show”. Prior to that, I hadn’t given it much thought and didn’t know anyone who ever watched it until I looked up my direct tv channels in Washington, where I currently live, and found out that I had the channel.
“The Rotten Tomatoes Show” is like the old “Ebert & Roeper” show where two people sit around giving opinions about the latest movies. The hosts are funny, they perform hilarious skits, and they air reviews generated by viewers. I thought that gave it a nice, personable touch.
I started flipping through their list of shows (it is channel 358 on DirecTV). They sounded interesting, so I recorded a few and checked them out when I got the time. It did not take long for Current to become my favorite after that.
‘Infomania’ is great, too, kind of like “The Soup” in how it satirizes the media and popular TV shows. The jokes are vicious and never let up, plus they are laugh-out-loud funny. Their special segments steal the show (no pun intended), especially “Viral Video Film School”.
Another one I like is “Max & Jason: Still Up”. It features documentaries from around the world on a variety of topics. They are educational and enjoyable, and it really is like no other show I have found on TV. A lot of shows on Current TV are like that, though, and I find myself skipping other channels now just to get to it.
